The Avett Brothers - “Nothing Short of Thankful”
Since Tania Elizabeth has been performing with The Avett Brothers recently, I thought I would make a post showing her musical talents for anyone that might not know who she is.
She is an eclectic fiddle player and was a member of The Duhks from 2002-2010, 2013 - present. She was temporarily replaced by Casey Driessen. At the beginning of 2013, The Duhks announced they are working on a new album (with original members Tania Elizabeth and Jessee Havey) , and would release an EP throughout the summer and an album in Autumn. At this time, neither have been released.
Here are some videos to check out:
Tania Elizabeth playing a solo and singing in French (introduced by Mary Gauthier!!)
(For fiddle players to be) Tania Elizabeth Fiddle Workshop for The Ookpik Waltz
Tania Elizabeth plays the fiddle for the recorded version of "Open Ended Life" from ‘Magpie and the Dandelion’, as well as playing it on stage with them during Live On Letterman. She also joined them for "Laundry Room" and "Vanity" that same show.
She is incredibly talented.
As a huge fan of The Duhks I am ecstatic to see her playing with them. I hope it continues (not forever because I want the new album from The Duhks) and look forward to more appearances with her, or at least finding more videos online if that time is over.
